What are Our Marketing Effort?
Our Marketing Effort is the work that our staff, members and viewers do to promote ChangingLINKS.com.
Members and viewers help ChangingLINKS.com by sharing it with friends, other sites and the media.
Sharing ChangingLINKS.com with others helps our member pages get more traffic and helps grow our membership.
How does it work?
All of the methods we use are effective and are geared towards promoting our member pages. You will notice that when you come to ChangingLINKS.com and enter the site, we encourage viewers to go directly to viewing links and adding more links. We will continue to put time and money into marketing ChangingLINKS.com for years to come. For illustration, we will put a monetary value on the work we have done as well as the expenses for infrastructure:
- We collected 12,000 links on a variety of topics by hand. The time it took us to collect the links by hand was 960 hours, or 40 days and nights working non-stop. It takes about 8 hours to collect 100 links that met our strict criteria where one out of 4 sites qualified. Even if we were paid hourly at minimum wage, the total would be $5280.
- We spent 6 months working 4-17 hour days creating custom link marketing software. The software helps automate the process of collecting qualified links for the database. Still, a human reviews the results at 200 per hour. We added 6-7000 links that are related to ChangingLINKS by keyword. The data for a link marketing campaign like that costs $15-18K.
- We have re-designed ChangingLINKS with 5 major versions to make it ultra-easy to use. And we created a sign up process that lets webmasters easily sign up their own pages and refer friends. We get no less than 200 signups per week. We the rough drafts of code for ChangingLINKS cost $1,600.
- We designed and and built custom software (called the GSS) that helped promote ChangingLINKS to non-commercial web site owners. The software gave us our main source of traffic and was able to attract 8500 viewers within 24 hours. The GSS is also responsible for attracting most of the member pages in our database. The software cost $3200.
- We created a robot called Changebot handles database and email marketing. Changebot keeps track of each page, whether or not it is linked and does database marketing. Changebot automates our database maintainence, does our database marketing and reviews sites saving us 4 hours per day. Paying staff minimum wage for a year to do Changebot's work would cost $5720
- We worked 40 hours on selecting keyword phrases and optimizing our pages for the search engines. We have won high ranking for general keyword phrases including "changing" "weird links" "reciprocal links" and more. To ensure that we did a good job, we paid a search engine expert to double check our work. We also paid search engines to be included. The total for the SEO campaign was $1500.
- We do other small tasks like submit hundreds of member pages to the major search engines following strict rules,exchange links with thousands of pages, use co-op advertising and random ads to grow membership and constantly add services to offer our members for free. If we can automate it, we will add it.
- We also encourage our members to spread the word about ChangingLINKS. Viewers and members spread the word about ChangingLINKS.com and we have been a featured. We feel the exposure that comes from members word of mouth is priceless. So far, ChangingLINKS has been featured in:
